Aromatherapy is the systematic use of essential oils from plants in holistic treatments. Essential oils are used in massage, baths, creams, hydrolytes, shampoos or via inhalation in order to treat medical and non-medical condition. The overall effects of Aromatherapy are stress reduction, bringing the body & mind into equilibrium, healing and support of the immune system.

Plants have been used to improve health and well-being since the early days of human kind. Essential oils are obtained from the plants and their chemical structure is highly complex. They are safe and extremely beneficial when used by a trained Aromatherapist.

Specific effects of Aromatherapy are:

The skin– improves elasticity, improves healing of the scar tissue, reduction of stretch marks, makes skin softer, improves skin tone, increases production of new cells, and balances the sebum of the skin which can aid in reducing acne.

The vascular system– depending on the oil used they can decrease blood pressure (hypertensive properties), increase blood pressure (hypertensive properties), dilate capillaries (rubefacient properties), or constrict capillaries (tonic properties).
